Essie - Don't sweater it

Today's post is a review about essie's Don't sweater it from the fall collection 2012. This is a lovely basic grayish brown color. If you want color but still want a natural look.

Now the color may look very plane and boring but it's not! Yes it does not have special effects but because it is so basic it matches every outfit. This color can go with anything and for any occasion! Work, School anything!

Excuse my cuticles I am working on keeping them looking nice but it's an on going process!

As you can see the color is fully opaque and there are no streaks or smudges. It has the usual awesome Essie quality, great wide brush that makes applying this color very easy. Great opacity within one coat, i always use two to get that glossy finished effect. And the best part is this color lasts for-ever on your nail! I had this color on my nails for I kid you not almost two weeks before I had to take it off.

This color is just amazing, as Essie colors almost always are. I used INM Out The Door Topcoat which gives it a nice glossy finish. I would give this polish 5/5 points! As I said before it's amazing!

Essie - Stylenomics

Today's blogpost is a review of essie's Stylenomics. This polish is part of essie's fall collection 2012.

This is a very dark green color. It gives me a foresty feel, perfect for fall. Even though fall 2012 has passed this color is an easy transition into winter.

The color looks absolutely stunning in the bottle but alas the color doesn't transfer to the nails. On the picture below the color looks pretty accurate to the bottle but in most light it looks black. If you don't mind having the look of black nails then you probably won't mind this color and in some forms of light it does look dark green but if you want a true dark green color then I wouldn't recommend this color.

The color pay off is excellent! It is fully opaque in one coat but a second coat does put the cherry on the icing. I used INM Out the door topcoat and the color lasted for about one week. The ends did chip a little bit but it did not bother me.

I give essie's Stylenomics a 2 out of 5. I was very disappointed that the color isn't true to the color in the bottle. The quality is excellent though, as most essie polishes are.

Nail Inspiration

I have a confession to make. I don't think it will be a surprise to you if you know me but, I am a
nail polish junkie.

I love nail polish. I am usually just sporting a plain color but sometimes I try nail art. Today I would like to share some of my nail art inspiration with you.

I think this looks great. I do wonder if she drew it by hand or used a stencil. If it is drawn by hand it is even more amazing. A pattern like this is also nice to use as an accent nail.

I think matte nails look stunning.
It just looks so fierce. Also, like in the picture, if a matte topcoat is used over a black polish the finished look is just so neat and polished. Especially if you get the nail rim perfectly round it is just a satisfying sight.

Continuing with the matte look a matte nail with a glossy tip can look great. I know the opinions will be divided about this look. Personally I like it!

This is also great! The amount of work and effort put into this look makes it even better. Accessories can more easily get caught behind objects. This makes the look less durable.

I think this look is the look I admire the most. I can only imagine the time and effort put into this look. If you use a good base and top coat I imagine this look can be very durable. I hate that if I do nail art and it is ruined or chipped after one or two days and I have to take it off. Especially if it was as much effort as this look probably is.

This is just too cute!
I think that these are nail stickers / patches. I definitely don't think that she did this by hand.

GOLD! I love the look of pure glitter. I don't however like the extreme amount of effort is takes to remove glitter polishes. I tend to avoid wearing glittery polishes for exactly this reason, and if I do choose to wear a glitter polish I wait as long as possible to remove it.
I love the simplicity of this look. Even though it might look hard it actually isn't, and it is still cute!
I tried the look myself. At the time I couldn't find my white nail polish so I used black. I truly enjoyed this look. It also lasted for a good amount of time.

This is a look that I really want to try! It just looks like so much fun!

Sometimes I have days where I want to do something more than just one color, but I don't have the patience or time to do extravagent nail art. On those days I like accent nails. Accent nails are really easy but add just that extra touch that I am looking for.

Shatter polish. You either hate it or love it. I love it for an accent nail or as shown in the picture above.

Another way to add something extra to your basic nail is to add a layer of glitter on top of your polish. If you use the glitter like this it will not be as hard to take off as full on glitter nail polish would be.

Last but not least I want to share some basic full color nails. I just love the look of a perfectly polished one color nail.

Essie - Dive Bar

Today's nail color is Essie's - Dive Bar.
In the bottle it is this amazingly versatile color, that changes from a sparkly blue into a sparkly purple. It kind of reminds me of the universe. I know this sounds kind of vague but when you see a picture of the universe at night this color reminds me of that.

Although the color is still very pretty on the nails it is not as spectacular as in the bottle. On the nails it is just a sparkly blue color. The " WOW " factor is definitely higher in the bottle than on the nail. The color still reminds me of the universe though.

I used 2 coats on my nails. The color is fully opaque after 1 coat but for the extra shine and to make the coats more even I added an extra coat. The drying time took a bit longer than some other essie polishes, but it wasn't dramatically long.

This picture captures just how cool the polish looks in the bottle. The different colors, from blue to kind of an ocean green to a purple color is just amazing.

On a scale of 1-5 I would give this polish a 3. It looks amazing in the bottle but though it is pretty on the nails it is not as spectacular as in the bottle.

Essie is available at most drugstores and costs €10,-

Essie Status Symbol

Essie Status Symbol is a beautiful barbie pink color. In the bottle it does not look that special but when you apply it to the nails it looks so pretty!

There are some blue undertones in this pink which I think makes the color stand out more on your nails.
It's a beautiful summer color. And if you want a nice bright color for your toes this is the one for you.

Also a good color for a party.

The color was part of the spring collection 2009 but some drugstores may still carry it.

I applied 2 coats. The color was fully opaque after 1 coat but I applied another coat just for the glossy finish.

On a scale of 1-5 I give this color a 5. It is such a pretty color, it dries quickly, and the color pay off is great!

Essie - Sugar Daddy

Essie's Sugar Daddy is a soft very light pink color perfect for the "your nails but better" look.
This color would also be a perfect color for a french manicure. Or if for your work environment brighter colors are not appropriate but you still want to have a neat and finished nail this color is the one.

I used 4 thin coats. The polish is pretty gooey and tacky and takes a very long time to dry.
In the picture on the right you can see the difference between nothing on my nails and 4 thin coats of Sugar Daddy. As you can see it looks a lot more neat and finished than "naked" nails.

On a scale of 1-5 I give this polish a 4. It is a very nice neutral color and even though it takes a while to dry it is a very pretty color.

Essie is for sale in most drugstores for €10,-
