Today I am going to show you my perfume collection. I will show you my perfumes in the order in which I got them. I am going to start with the oldest and work up to the newest. My collection varies from higher end perfumes to drugstore perfumes. This post will be part one of a three part series. In this post I will show you the first 5 perfumes of my collection, in part 2 I will show you the next 5, and in part 3 I will make a list of my perfumes in order of favoritism and a list of the perfumes that are on my wish list.
The first ever perfume I can remember getting is Davidoff's Cool Water Woman, Happy Summer edition. This perfume was released in 2007 as a part of Davidoff's summer collection. Originally this perfume was my Mums but she found it too sweet so she gave it to me. This is definitely a summer perfume. It is super sweet and fresh. Also because it is an eau de toilette it is not as powerful as an eau de parfume would be. I went onto the interwebs and found the official notes for you.
" Davidoff Cool Water Happy Summer conjures sparkling summer sensations with fresh, tangy citrus - lemon, orange, grapefruit and mandarin - in the top note, rounded out by lush pineapple and passion fruit in the heart. The aquatic facets of the original composition are boosted by fresh water fruits, while the lighter base of wood and musk makes this a must for sizzling summer days and nights."
The second perfume I am going to describe, Euphoria by Calvin Klein, is a special perfume for me. This is the first perfume that I went out, found, smelled and asked for for my birthday. I chose this perfume all by myself and I still love it. I don't wear it a lot but every time that I smell it I remember why I love it. It is an eau de parfum so it is a bit more powerful but not super over-powering. This is the original Euphoria which was released in 2005. I also find the bottle beautiful. It is so simple and modern. The downside though is that you can see every finger print on the bottle.
The notes for this perfume are:
Top: Pomegranate, Persimmon, " Lush Green Accord "
Middle: Lotus Blossom, Champaca Flower, Black Orchid
Base: Liquid Amber, Black Violet, Cream Orcid, Mahogany Wood
This perfume, Gloria Vanderbilt by Vanderbilt, I got for Christmas a couple of years ago from some family friends. I hardly ever wear it because it has such a strong scent. It also does not have a spray nozzle which makes it harder to apply as you don't want to spill the entire bottle over yourself!
The notes for this perfume are:
Top: Aldehydes, Pineapple, Orange Blossom, Lavender, Green Notes, Bergamot
Middle: Carnation, Tuberose, Orris Root, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, Rose
Base: Sandalwood, Cinnamon, Opoponox, Musk, Civet, Vanilla, Vetiver
This perfume, émilie by Fragonard, I got in Grassse at the Fragonard perfume museum. I will be honest and confess that I, that is to say my parents, mainly bought this perfume for its name: émilie, as it is my name, even though it is not spelled the same. I actually really like this perfume it is very flowery so I mainly use it in the spring and summer. I don't wear it a lot but when I smell it it always makes me happy :)
The notes for this perfume are:
Top: Rose, Jasmin, Orange Blossom
Middle: Delicate Violet, Lily of the valley
Base: Sandalwood, Amber
The notes for this perfume are:
Top: Lemon, Cedar
Middle: Pink Pepper, Water Hyacinth, Jasmine
Base: Teak Wood, Iris, Amber, Patchouli, Vetiver, White Musk
