OOTD 12-06-2012

Todays blogpost is an outfit of the day. This is the outfit I wore yesterday, Thursday. It was also the first day of snow!

I wore my army colored green jacket from Abercrombie & Fitch. Beneath the jacket I wore a plain short sleeved black t-shirt with a plain cami underneath that for extra warmth as it was cold outside! For jeans I wore my dark wash Hollister Super Skinny jeans. For shoes I wore my new ankle boots that I got for Sinterklaas. I will be writing a blogpost about Sinterklaas and the presents I got soon.

I wore my hair loose with the front strands tucked behind my ears. I also wore a brown infinity scarf.

For make-up I kept it simple. On my eyes I wore the colors Virgin, Naked and Buck from Urban Decay's original Naked palette. And cocoa Puff from Too Faced Cosmetics natural eye palette. I use Virgin as an everyday brow bone and inner corner highlighter. Naked all over the eyelid and Buck and Cocoa Puff blended into the crease. I curled my lashes and first applied a coat of Bennefit They're Real mascara and then a coat of Max Factor's Masterpiece Max Mascara. On my lips I wore a lip liner in the color 07 Cute Pink by essence.

These are the shoes I wore. Maybe not the best shoes to wear when it is snowing outside but they are just so cute! And they fit perfectly with the outfit! I did wear them before taking the pictures so they may look a bit dirty. They are by the brand Vagabond Link to the website. The shoes have a heal but because they are not too high they are very easy to walk in.

I really like this outfit. It is cute but still simple and easy. To end the blogpost I will leave you with a picture of the snow :)

Nail Inspiration

I have a confession to make. I don't think it will be a surprise to you if you know me but, I am a
nail polish junkie.

I love nail polish. I am usually just sporting a plain color but sometimes I try nail art. Today I would like to share some of my nail art inspiration with you.

I think this looks great. I do wonder if she drew it by hand or used a stencil. If it is drawn by hand it is even more amazing. A pattern like this is also nice to use as an accent nail.

I think matte nails look stunning.
It just looks so fierce. Also, like in the picture, if a matte topcoat is used over a black polish the finished look is just so neat and polished. Especially if you get the nail rim perfectly round it is just a satisfying sight.

Continuing with the matte look a matte nail with a glossy tip can look great. I know the opinions will be divided about this look. Personally I like it!

This is also great! The amount of work and effort put into this look makes it even better. Accessories can more easily get caught behind objects. This makes the look less durable.

I think this look is the look I admire the most. I can only imagine the time and effort put into this look. If you use a good base and top coat I imagine this look can be very durable. I hate that if I do nail art and it is ruined or chipped after one or two days and I have to take it off. Especially if it was as much effort as this look probably is.

This is just too cute!
I think that these are nail stickers / patches. I definitely don't think that she did this by hand.

GOLD! I love the look of pure glitter. I don't however like the extreme amount of effort is takes to remove glitter polishes. I tend to avoid wearing glittery polishes for exactly this reason, and if I do choose to wear a glitter polish I wait as long as possible to remove it.
I love the simplicity of this look. Even though it might look hard it actually isn't, and it is still cute!
I tried the look myself. At the time I couldn't find my white nail polish so I used black. I truly enjoyed this look. It also lasted for a good amount of time.

This is a look that I really want to try! It just looks like so much fun!

Sometimes I have days where I want to do something more than just one color, but I don't have the patience or time to do extravagent nail art. On those days I like accent nails. Accent nails are really easy but add just that extra touch that I am looking for.

Shatter polish. You either hate it or love it. I love it for an accent nail or as shown in the picture above.

Another way to add something extra to your basic nail is to add a layer of glitter on top of your polish. If you use the glitter like this it will not be as hard to take off as full on glitter nail polish would be.

Last but not least I want to share some basic full color nails. I just love the look of a perfectly polished one color nail.

Nightime Routine

Today I am going to show you my nighttime routine. I start off, of course, with my make-up that I wore that day.

I start my routine with a clean cotton pad. I use the kind of cotton pads that have a soft side and a rough side and I use the soft side for removing my eye make-up.
To remove my eye make-up I use the Nivea Visage eye make-up removing lotion. It feels more like a tonic that a lotion. It is very gentle and does not irritate my eyes. Link to the eye make-up remover.

I put some of the lotion on the cotton pad and gently remove my eye make-up.

This is the rough side of the cotton pad. I use this side to clean my face.
Next, I use the Nivea Visage Pure Effect stay clear tonic. It cleans my face and helps prevent any break outs. I don't wear foundation every day but if I do wear foundation this removes that too.

I use the same technique as when I remove my eye make-up. I also use this on my chest/decolleté.

After I have cleaned my face I moisturize it using my Nivea Visage night cream. This is a very basic night cream but it does the job well. It helps moisturize my face and helps prevent breakouts. It can feel a bit greasy if you put too much on your face but it absorbs well. Link to the night cream.

I spread the night cream in equal amounts on my face and then massage it in. I also use this on my chest/decolleté.

I have recently started using eye cream. I use the Anatomicals - eye cream, you scream we all scream for eye cream, eye cream. It is a basic eye cream and not expensive at all. I paid €4,95 for 15 ml.

I apply a bit under each eye and massage it in with my ring finger. To be honest I forget to use this a lot. I think because I have recently added it to my routine it hasn't become a habit yet.
Link to the eye cream.

Time for teeth brushing! I use the Prodent anti tartar toothpaste, which also has some whitening in it, and an Aquafresh toothbrush.

The toothbrush has different layers. I mainly chose it because they have a lot of different colors to choose from.

After I brush my teeth I moisturize my lips using my eos lip balm in Strawberry Sorbet. I absolutely love this lip balm. It smells and feels great. Link to the lip balm.

I sleep with my hair loose instead of in a bun or pony tail. I just run a brush through my hair to brush it out. If I have washed my hair I will just sleep with it wet and then it is dry in the morning.

The last step of my routine is applying hand cream. I turn off all my lights except my nightstand light. I crawl into bed with my book and a cup of Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time Tea and then when my tea is finished and I am done reading I apply my hand cream. I am currently using the Kneipp hand cream for soft hands. The scent is almond flower.
Link to the hand cream.

As I said I usually read a chapter or two of the book I am currently reading and drink a cup of Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time Tea before I go to bed. Link to the tea.

As you can see I use a lot of Nivea Visage products. I am not being sponsored. Those products just work very well on my face/skin.
